We've got a lot of catching up to do! Our Carnival run into Mardi Gras was pretty epic, but it also kept us from keeping up, yannow? Here's a groovy video shot by our pal, Seth Thompson at Green Frog Photo.
It's from Silva's BIG OLE BIRTHDAY on February 13th in Grand Rapids, MI. Silva has a quirky, celebratory atmosphere with a combination of rooms, aesthetic and entertainers, on a regular day. It's a wild space and an historic renovation project, and we were honored to play the ribbon cutting one year ago.
On their birthday party,... they really get weird - in the good kinda way...
Seth sent us this "oner" and we couldn't quite believe everything he captured in this continuous, 360 degree shot. The song is "To Never Forget the Source" written by Shabaka Hutchings for Sons of Kemet. Of course, in this video - you never hear the "head"/melody, but you do get 5 minutes of GLB improvisation. Also weird in a the good kinda way.
